The Challenge

Scaling Dental Imaging and Planning Services to a 100 Clinics

Cliq2Scan's diagnostic services have the ability to reach hundreds of clinics and their patients, but the lack of automation limits the number of manageable services to a handful of cases each week. This bottleneck highlighted the critical need for an efficient system for both their clients and the diagnostic team.

How might we provide diagnostic services to clinics overwhelmed by high case volumes, helping them streamline and accelerate their processes?

Solutions

Boil Down to these Key Enhancements

Enhanced Existing WorkflowPrecise Customization & Additional Notes to reduce delays in scanning and reporting.

Prioritization of CasesSetting Urgency Level allows urgent cases to move through the system faster.
Proactive Error PreventionFeatures that facilitate clear communication to minimize diagnostic and imaging mistakes.

Process Outcomes

Diagnostic Automation is the Standard

Based on user interviews with 20+ implantologists, we were able to discern the challenges they face on a day-to-day basis and the workarounds they employed. The clear consensus is that diagnostic automation is no longer a nice-to-have, but a growing necessity to keep up with patient influx.

Insight #1

Medical Radiologists overlook crucial detail needed for dental Surgery

Medical radiologists' CBCT reports often overlook crucial details for dental maxillofacial procedures. Dental radiologists, with their specialized expertise, offer more detailed reports essential for surgical planning. Good reports are hard to find.

Insight #2

In-house 3D printed guides require significant investment in equipment & time

Single-use 3D-printed guides are invaluable in dental surgeries; the caveat, however, is the need for technical skills, specialized equipment like cone beam scanners, or costly commercial labs, with prices often ranging from $250 to $400+ per guide.

Insight #3

50% of Clients will stick to a provider that they are familiar with

Many implantologists maintain long-term relationships with scan centers and labs, a trend likely to continue. Securing these clients with an all-inclusive solution could establish enduring partnerships and sustained business growth.

User Roles

Each Professional Brings an Important Piece to the Puzzle

As the range of treatment options widens, every professional contributes to and experiences the benefits of a platform that make end-to-end diagnostic solutions possible.

Finding Structure Amidst the Chaos

Enhancing the Workflow, Not Reinventing It

A research workshop showed that the priorities of clinics, scan centers, and Cliq2Scan radiologists varied widely.

Workflow analysis revealed that clinics needed fast, actionable results, scan centers prioritized high volume for profitability, and radiologists took pride in delivering precise reports and guides.

Open card sort results highlighted essential touchpoints critical to successful collaboration.

Design Decisions

Design that Encapsulates the Nuances of Specialty Dentistry

Implantologists often struggle with lengthy delays and disjointed communication which directly affects patient outcomes and clinic productivity. To solve this, Cliq2Scan integrates a streamlined order management system that prioritizes urgent cases, automates updates, and aligns with the implantologists' existing workflows, ensuring smoother operations and timely diagnostics.

Progressive Disclosure to reduce ComplexityThe default layout follows the law of common region - grouping actions that are geared towards accomplishing a single task at a time.

Longer list of requirements are spread out over multiple pages to reduce cognitive load. Using a clear stepper and subdivisions to break a complex task into bite sized pieces.

Admin Portal : Efficient Order Follow up

Leveraging Familiar Patterns for Faster Orders

The app allows the admin to sort orders either chronologically or by service type, making it easier to provide precise diagnostic options for their clients. Additionally, it eliminates the need to repeatedly request information for similar cases, as patient preferences are set by clients as they place their orders.

Clinic Portal : Keeping Tabs

Real-Time Updates on Order Progess

Real-time notifications ensure clients are always informed about progress. In-app messaging between clients and radiologists keeps teams in the loop about potential changes in requirements or adding on additional services to the final report.

Scan Center Portal
